Celebrate Galentine's Day the Right Way

If you're anything like me, the most important people in your life – other than yourself – are your girls! Whether that be your mom, your sister, your favorite cousin or your best friends, Galentine's Day is February 13th. This nonofficial holiday surfaced in the pop culture sphere when Parks and Recreation aired an episode with title suggesting the holiday. With each new season, one episode was dedicated to Galentine's Day, in which the fictional character Leslie Knope (portrayed by Amy Poehler) continually emphasized the holiday's importance as a day for "ladies celebrating ladies." February 13th has become not just a day to celebrate my grandma's birth, but to celebrate the most important women in my life. Here are some great ways to spread some Galentine's Day love to all of your favorite ladies this year.

Host a "Cocktail Party"

This year, Galentine's Day is on a Tuesday – not exactly the best day to host an elaborate brunch or dinner party. But, a mini "cocktail party" could be a viable option! Invite your besties over for after-work (or class!) drinks, and have a table set up with hors d'oeuvres and mini desserts. You can also set up pitchers of giggle juice, or any of these adorable and easy cocktails from Cosmopolitan. Plus, do you have a blank wall or cute tapestry that's perfect for a picture backdrop? Get these Galentine Photo Props from Amazon and you'll have thrown the cutest get-together of the year yet!

Roses are Red...or Lilac or Pink or even Gold

If you watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians, you definitely know what I'm about to say. If you don't you'll be happy I told you. VENUS ET FLEUR is the forever-trendy Parisian-inspired rose arrangements. These roses apparently known to "last a year." That's why these arrangements are the perfect gift to send your galentine(s). By the time next year comes around, you can send them the perfect seasonal arrangement yet again to remind them that your love and appreciation spans beyond just one year. As a junior in college, I understand these arrangements can be a bit pricey. If you download Ebates and purchase any VENUS ET FLEUR product from Saks Fifth Avenue, you'll get 4% cash back on your purchase.

Subscription Boxes Are ALWAYS a Move

Have one gal that means more than all the rest? A subscription box is the gift that keeps on giving! Don't have the funds to support a three-, six-, twelve-month subscription? I've got you! MeUndies is the brand that's bringing the world "softer-than-soft" undies. This February, MeUndies is partnering up with Sugarfina candies to bring you a limited-edition Bento Box that you can fill with matching pairs. Who wouldn't love a good pair of undies AND rosé gummy bears?!

So Maybe DIY Is More Your Thing

So you're the craftier type? I've got an idea for you, too! "Open When" letters are, in my opinion, one of the most meaningful and personal gifts you can give to someone that means so much to you. Ideas for these can include "Open When We Haven't Seen Each Other For a Week," "Open When You Had a Great Night Last Night," "Open When You're Feeling a Little Lonely," or "Open When You Need a Good Belly Laugh." Design them however you want, or check out some Pinterest mood boards for these letters – I found a bunch! Not as great with words? Draw or digitally design the "body" of the letters in whatever ways you know how!

And For Those of You Ballin' On a Budget...

The women that are most important to you probably know how much they mean to you. If you're realllllly balling on a budget (you all know who you are), I'm sure they'll understand. Gracing your favorite girls with your presence, love and attention for yet another year is totally enough. If you're feeling generous, maybe they'll also accept a hug. Or, maybe you can all just enjoy this gif I made from a cheers of the best frosé. Whatever you guys prefer.
